COMPASSION IS CONTAGIOUS. PASS IT ON!
Since 2002, the Compassion Advocacy Network has done what its name implies: advocate for a more compassionate world and put that advocacy into action, including simple acts of kindness that fight senior isolation and food hunger, benefiting residents in nursing homes or senior apartment homes, veterans, and individuals facing cancer.

125K
Over 125K isolated seniors battling hunger, isolationism, and cancer helped through CAN programming.

14,500
Over 14,500 veterans helped through our C.A.N. Help! Program.
We’ve found that although the forgotten population can be of any age, they are often the elderly- the most vulnerable of the vulnerable.
What happens when a person gets older and finds that securing basic housing, food, healthcare or even basic personal care items are beyond their means? But also, they may be estranged from or have outlived their family or friends?
That's where CAN steps in with “1-to-1” simple acts of kindness uplifting thousands of people in our community each year. Why? We simply owe it to those who are at their most vulnerable to provide a life of dignity, compassion and security.

A lot of residents at Tucker House are on a fixed-income. While I'm lucky to have grandchildren that help, CAN brings the groceries to our apartments-which is really helpful to the seniors who are in wheel-chairs or are bed-ridden.

85K
Over 85,000 families served throughout Virginia, North & South Carolina, Florida, and throughout the United States.

DONATIONS THAT GO TO THOSE THAT NEED THEM!
Social isolation, financial hardship, homelessness and food insecurity contribute to a lower quality of life. Those impacted by these challenges face a sense of hopelessness and everyday struggle, and we can’t help but feel the effects of that.
What does lending a helping hand look like for this population? It's packing a C.A.N. Help! Bag complete with basic care needs and food items. It’s hosting social events for isolated elderly and nursing home residents not regularly visited by family or friends. And it is fundraising for families dealing with cancer.
A little compassion goes a long way!

$1M
Over $1M donated in direct support to families financially devastated by cancer and homelessness.
180K
Over 180K C.A.N. Help! Bags with food and necessary items were distributed.

8M
Over 8M items of high-quality soups, simple meals including a protein (tuna fish, chicken, beef), snacks, healthy beverages, clothing, personal care & household products donated.

I was wheel-chair bound after a bad motorcycle accident and CAN came out to build a ramp on my house. They were generous about coming out, and never asked for anything. It was really heart-warming that there's still people out there that want to do for people that can't do for themselves.
